Every state is different when it comes to voter registration and voting methods and deadlines. Here is some helpful information and links regarding voting in Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico and Texas – four states with Chicanos Por La Causa operations.
ARIZONA
Information provided by the Arizona Secretary of State’s Office Elections Division
- Online voter registration is available if you have an Arizona Driver License and/or an Arizona non-operating I.D. card issued by the Motor Vehicle Division (MVD). You may register to vote through Service Arizona EZ Voter Registration.
- Online voter registration form. If you are having trouble logging in to the Service Arizona website, you can print off a Voter Registration Form(PDF) and fill it out with your information. After you finish, mail the completed form to your County Recorder’s office and your information will be processed.
- Voter registration by mail. You can either print off a form online(PDF) or request that a registration form be mailed to you from your County Recorder. After completing the voter registration form, mail it to your county recorder’s office.
- In-person voter registration. You may visit your County Recorder’s Officeand fill out a registration form in person.
Note: After you have successfully registered to vote you will receive a voter registration card in the mail within 4-6 weeks.

NEVADA
Information provided by the Nevada Secretary of State’s Office Elections Division
- Online voter registration is now available for residents of all Nevada counties. Eligible voters can register to vote and update their voter registration information online, including change of address and party affiliation. A DMV issued Driver's License or ID is required. Visit gov to register to vote update your registration online.
- Mail-in voter registration in .pdf format is available at Voter Registration Form. Follow step-by-step instructions, print out the form and sign it. Mail or deliver the form in person to the county clerk or registrar of votersin your county. If you have technical problems, call the Nevada Secretary of State’s Office at 775-684-5705 or send an email to nvelect@sos.nv.gov.
- Other options include registering to vote at any Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles office, at your county clerk or registrar of voters' office, at various social service agencies, and on college campuses.
- Same-day voting registration is available during early voting period (Oct. 17-Oct. 30) and on Election Day (Nov. 3).

NEW MEXICO
Information provided by the New Mexico Secretary of State’s Office Bureau of Elections
- Online voting registration or updating your registration online is available if you have either a current or expired New Mexico state I.D. (like a driver’s license) you can easily register for the first time or make changes to your registration—like name, address or party affiliation – using New Mexico’s online system. Click here to register or update your registration online.
- Mail-in voter registration is available if you don’t have a state-issued I.D., or otherwise would prefer to register by mail. Simply pick up a voter registration application form or print the national form online, fill it out, then mail it to the New Mexico Secretary of State’s Office or your local County Clerk’s Office. If you are not sure where to send it, you can look it up on the New Mexico Secretary of State’s Office website or call 1-800-477-3632.

TEXAS
Information provided by the Texas Secretary of State’s Office Elections Division
- In-person voter registration is available at your county Voter Registrar’s office.(In most Texas counties, the Tax Assessor-Collector is also the Voter Registrar. In some counties, the County Clerk or Elections Administrator registers voters.) Or you can register by mail by obtaining an application from your county Voter Registrar’s office or pick up applications at libraries, government offices, or high schools.
- Online voter registration informal form is available by clicking here. Print out the form, sign it, and mail it to the voter registrar in your county of residence. Your county’s voter registrar will then process your application, and your registration will become effective 30 days after it is submitted and accepted by the county voter registrar. (The county voter registrar’s address can be found at the top of the online outputted voter registration application once you have submitted your information from the fill-in-the blanks screen. Note: This service is best viewed on Internet Explorer 7 and higheror Firefox.)
